I Concerti al Cenacolo, Early Music in the Metropolitan City of Florence, that L’Homme Armé has organized since 1994, is the longest-running annual early music series of concerts in Tuscany. In 2014, we rebranded both Concerti al Cenacolo and AntiContemporaneo driving the inspiration from the painting “Ancient sound” (1926) by Paul Klee.
Before he became a painter, Klee had been a professional orchestra violinist: in this painting the complex deep texture of sound emerges from darkness and it is visualized as a grid system of coloured squares.
